Innovation Corp. to build biodiesel plant

In a bid to meet growing demand and renewable fuels targets put in place by the government, Canada-based biofuel firm Energy Innovation Corp. is planning to build a biodiesel production facility in Toronto.

When the plant comes online in 2011 it will be the first of its kind in the region, producing 10 million litres a year of biodiesel. According to Energy Innovation, the plant will be one of a total eight units planned for Ontario.

Canada’s current output is more than 200 million litres a year, however this is expected to exceed 650 million litres a year throughout 2011
