Energy White Paper
The Draft Energy White Paper 2011 – Strengthening the Foundation for Australia’s Energy Future was launched on 13 December 2011 by the Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism.
It delivers on a commitment by the Government to release a Draft Energy White Paper for public consultation by the end of 2011. It is anticipated that a final Energy White Paper will be released in 2012.
The Draft Energy White Paper provides an overview of Australia’s future energy needs to 2030 (and in some cases beyond) and defines a comprehensive strategic policy framework to guide the further development of Australia’s energy sector.

Consultation
As part of the consultation process submissions on the Draft Energy White Paper are invited from interested parties until 16 March 2012.
A series of information sessions will also be held in early 2012.
